A Facial Treatment Can Be Built Around Different Goals
Men do not always need the same facial areas treated. One client may want to remove unwanted hair between the eyebrows or on the upper forehead, while another may want treatment focused on the cheeks or selected beard areas. Glow Lab can define the treatment area according to the facial hair that the client wants addressed.
Forehead and Unibrow
Unwanted hair on the forehead can be treated, including hair close to the forehead hairline when it falls within the selected treatment area. The eyebrows themselves are not treated, and Laser Hair Removal is not used to shape the eyebrows.
Cheeks and the Upper-Cheek Area
The cheeks can be included in Face Laser Hair Removal for Men. Selected upper-cheek areas below the eyes may also be treated when a safe distance from the eyes can be maintained. The treatment does not extend into the eyebrow or eyelash area.
Beard Areas: Removal, Contouring, or Density Reduction
For beard-related treatment, Laser Hair Removal does not have to mean removing the entire beard. Glow Lab can treat selected beard areas, define the beard line, or reduce hair density when complete removal is not the client’s goal. The exact boundaries are confirmed before treatment.
When the goal is specifically beard shaping or treatment of selected beard and upper-neck areas, Beard Laser Hair Removal is available as a separate treatment. That service can follow a sharper or more natural beard outline depending on the client’s preference.
Face, Beard, and Neck Are Separate Treatment Areas
Facial treatment does not automatically mean that the entire neck is included. Glow Lab treats the neck as its own area, with Front Neck, Back Neck, and Full Neck options. A selected upper-neck area associated with the beard line can instead be part of Beard Laser Hair Removal.
Which Facial Hair Can Be Treated?
For fine facial hair, suitability depends on the amount of pigment in the hair. Very light-colored, white, colorless, or gray hair generally does not provide the pigment needed for effective laser targeting. This is especially relevant when deciding which finer facial hairs should be included in the treatment area.

Before Your Appointment
- Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for 4 weeks before treatment.
- Wait 3 weeks after completing an antibiotic course.
- Do not take anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen or Aleve the day before, the day of, and the day after the procedure.
- Glow Lab’s general instruction to shave the day before treatment applies to body areas, not the face.
- Do not use Retin-A or retinol products on the treated areas for 2 weeks.
After Your Appointment
- Avoid tanning for 2 weeks.
- Avoid hot baths, steam rooms, saunas, and exercise for 48 hours.
- Avoid alcohol-containing lotions for 48 hours; Glow Lab’s instructions recommend aloe vera gel or panthenol cream instead.
- Do not wax, tweeze, or use sugaring between sessions; shaving is the only recommended hair-removal method.
- Allow about 2 weeks for the shedding process.
Safety and suitability
What to expect on the skin
Temporary redness or mild swelling around the hair follicles is possible after the treatment.
Contraindications
We do not perform this treatment during pregnancy; with an active infection, open skin damage or marked irritation in the area; with suspicious or unassessed lesions in the area; after recent active tanning if your specialist considers the treatment unsafe; or while you are taking or using medication or products that contraindicate laser treatment.
Isotretinoin, photosensitising medication, a tendency to keloid scarring, certain medical conditions and other medical factors are assessed individually through the intake form, waiver and our protocol. If there is any doubt, the treatment is postponed.
